LA GRANDE, Ore. – Breanna Shaffer led all players with 12 kills, leading No. 8 ranked Eastern Oregon to a 3-set sweep of The College of Idaho at Quinn Coliseum.
The Mountaineers (11-0, 10-0 CCC) remained unbeaten in conference play with the 25-14, 25-17, 25-12 win over their I-84 rivals.
EOU used an 11-3 run in Set 1 to break an 8-8 tie, as Sade Williams had four kills in the run for the hosts.
The Coyotes (4-8, 4-6) battled back in Set 2, as two
Austyn Mauzy kills helped C of I cut a deficit to 18-15, but EOU responded with three Shaffer kills in a 7-2 push to end the set.
Set 3 was all EOU, as Mariah Moulton had three of her five aces in the set and Shaffer connected for kills on all five of her swings.
Cameron Wallace led C of I with seven kills and Mauzy had six kills to lead C of I. The Yotes recorded a season-low four blocks in the loss.
Williams had nine kills in the win for EOU.
C of I continues their road swing next weekend, traveling to Lewiston for a pair of matches vs. Lewis-Clark State.
