CALDWELL, Idaho – The Cascade Conference has announced modifications to its spectator policy after a Tuesday meeting with the Council of Presidents.
Effective immediately for outdoor sports and March 19 for indoor sports, member schools may allow spectators to attend athletic competitions with capacity limits subject to state/county/local regulations, as well as, campus policies.
College of Idaho student-athletes in women's soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball will be allowed four family members to be admitted to home events – starting this weekend. Coyote volleyball players will be allowed four family members to attend their April 2-3 home dates vs. Corban. All ticketed spectators will be subject to a screening prior to entrance to the event, will be required to wear a mask at all times and practice physical distancing while in the venue.
"We are excited that we will be able to have limited fan support for our athletic teams," said athletic director,
Reagan Rossi. "However, we need to continue to be cautious in our approach to allow our teams the opportunity to complete the 2021 season as safely as possible."
This modification does not apply to the C of I football team – as spectators are still prohibited for home games – as the Frontier Conference Spectator Policy currently does not allow fans in any sport, including football.
All C of I home games will be streamed live on the Yotes Digital Network.
