Root Named CCC Pitcher of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. - College of Idaho's Connor Root was named Embrace Health/Santiam Hospital Cascade Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office.

The right-hander, from Twin Falls, tossed seven shutout innings in Sunday's 7-5 win at Oregon Tech - running his consecutive shutout innings streak to 14.1. Root allowed just four hits and tied a career-high with seven strikeouts.

C of I returns home this weekend, hosting Lewis-Clark State in a 4-game series.
