BOISE, Idaho – Competing outside for the first time this season, The College of Idaho ran into one of the top teams in the Intermountain West, as Boise State cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Yotes at the Appleton Center.
The Division I Broncos (5-2) dropped just one game in doubles action and won 72 of the 77 games played in singles competition.
In doubles, the Yotes (0-5) top team of
Lauren Kreutzer and
Taylor Johnson dropped a 6-1 decision to Joana Baptista and Shauna Heffernan.
Johnson played well at No. 2 singles, losing 6-1, 6-2 to Holly Stewart, despite playing multiple games to deuce points.
At No. 3,
Leiana Almaraz took a game from Vannessa Timm and at No. 6,
Morgan Leavitt won a game from Ana Vendrell, but both matches ended 6-1, 6-0.
C of I will have the next two weeks off in preparation for a pair of matches vs. Lewis-Clark State.
