COMPLETE MEDIA GAME NOTES
OPPONENT PREVIEW - EASTERN OREGON: EOU opened the season last week at Lewis-Clark State, falling 79-61. Taylor Stricklin led the way for the Mountaineers with 22 points, five rebounds and three steals. Beverly Slater had a huge game as well, pouring in 14 points and hauling down 13 rebounds on her way to a double-double. Slater missed the second portion of last season after leading the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game, but is back and looks to be a dangerous weapon once again.

CASCADE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION: Lewis-Clark State and C of I will take part in a best of three Cascade Conference Tournament on Feb. 17-26, with the winner earning a trip to the NAIA National Tournament. The Feb. 17 game will be hosted by LCSC, which was the higher-ranked team in the NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll and the Feb. 20 game will be hosted by C of I. SENIOR NIGHT: The six seniors on the C of I roster will be recognized prior to the game on Saturday.
Cierra Dvorak,
Makenna Schritter,
Sophia Jackson,
Kate Renfro,
Tayla Sayer and
Kiersten Rasmussen will each be honored. All of the senior night festivities will be covered with video on the Yotes Digital Network before the game.
FRENCH ON FIRE: There was little LCSC could do to slow down sophomore guard
Kenadee French on Saturday, as the sharpshooter connected on six of her nine 3-point attempts to finish with a season-high 18 points. The six triples marked a career-best for French, who had previously drained five on her way to 19 points last season against Corban.
DOUBLE-DIGIT CANNON: Sophomore guard
Allie Cannon has posted a double-digit scoring output on four occasions this season, including a 15-point effort on Saturday against LCSC in which she hit 4-of-10 shots from the field and 2-of-6 from outside.
MITCHELL ALSO POSTS DOUBLE-DIGIT OUTPUT: Sophomore guard
Lexi Mitchell had 13 points of her own at NNU last Wednesday, giving her a double figure points performance for the fourth time this year and the 10th time during her career.
CREAGER BRINGING THE OFFENSE: Junior forward
Mattie Creager has knocked down 7-of-8 field goal attempts over her first four appearances this season off the bench, including hitting all four of her shot attempts last week against NNU and LCSC.
YOTES TICKLE THE TWINE: C of I connected on a season-high nine 3-pointers against LCSC while also posting the highest percentage of the campaign from beyond the arc at 43 percent.
WHEN LEADING AT THE HALF: The Yotes are a perfect 4-0 this season when leading at the half, as C of I has been able to hold every lead that the program has taken into the locker room.
SCHEDULE UPDATES: The game on Wednesday against NNU has been canceled. EOU started their schedule last week and was officially added to the slate for this Saturday at 2 p.m. on Monday of this week.
ACADEMICS FIRST: Once again, every eligible student-athlete on the women's basketball team took home U.S. Bank Cascade Conference All-Academic Team accolades this year, as all team members who were at least a sophomore in academic standing maintained at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average at the College including
Allie Cannon,
Cierra Dvorak,
Kenadee French,
Sophia Jackson,
Kaylee Krusemark,
Lexi Mitchell,
Kiersten Rasmussen,
Kate Renfro,
Tayla Sayer,
Makenna Schritter and
Chevelle Shepherd.
RECORD BOOK: Three players continue to climb the record books for the Yotes, including
Sophia Jackson and
Kaylee Krusemark, who are among the all-time leaders in made 3-pointers in program history. Jackson has hit 82 triples in her collegiate career, putting her at 12th on the career list, while Krusemark has hit 75 to put her in a tie for 16th.
Kiersten Rasmussen has also been climbing the record books rapidly with 79 blocks for her career, which has moved her to sixth in C of I history. Rasmussen had four blocks over three games last week.Â
HOME BROADCAST INFORMATION: Fans will be able to follow Coyote Basketball this season online - with all home games carried live on C of I's
Stretch Internet Portal using the new StretchCast system. The broadcasts will feature an enhanced look and feel of a traditional television broadcast, with features, graphics and insight on the Yotes.
Sven Alskog will have the play-by-play beginning 15 minutes prior to tip for all women's basketball home games. All links to broadcasts originated while the Yotes are on the road can be found online at YoteAthletics.com underneath the women's basketball schedule page.
NO FANS IN THE JAAC: Following a year in which head coach
Janis Beal's team took home the Cascade Conference attendance crown - bringing in an average of 790 fans per game - the Yotes will be playing inside of an empty J.A. Albertson Activities Center this season until further notice due to COVID-19 regulations and protocols. C of I has won the CCC attendance crown in two consecutive seasons and finished ahead of 153 Division I schools, including Portland, Washington State, Utah State, Idaho and Weber State last year. The attendance inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center last winter was higher than 278 of 312 Division II schools.
