MCMINNVILLE, Ore. - College of Idaho got quality play at the top of the singles ladder, as the Yotes opened the 2021 season with a 7-0 loss at Linfield College at the Linfield Tennis Center.
The 3-time defending Northwest Conference champion Wildcats (1-1) won the doubles point and swept all six singles matches.
C of I (0-1) held 2-1 leads in both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, but Linfield swept the remaining five sets to win the point.

Lauren Kreutzer forced a third set in her match-up with Taryn Fujimori at No. 1 - with Fujimori earning a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory. In her C of I debut, freshman
Sara Altfas forced a tiebreak in the first set, but lost the tiebreaker and the match, 7-6 (6-4), 6-2. Linfield claimed the bottom three positions in singles without losing a game.
The Yotes return to the court tomorrow, traveling to George Fox for a morning match.
