The Warriors split two-game sets with No. 1 Southern Oregon and Simpson last week. Seli Aholelei (.500 BA, 4 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 9 RBI) paces the bats for William Jessup and Terra Goetz (2-3, 2.46 ERA, 14 K) has been the top pitcher so far on the year.
YOTES IN CALIFORNIA: In program history, C of I has traveled to California in 12 different seasons prior to this trip. The Yotes have played 77 games in the Golden State, posting a record of 38-38-1 overall. Since the inaugural year of the program in 2002, C of I has finished 10 games above .500 in the state of California.
Â
CHRISTENSEN MAKES INSTANT IMPACT: Freshman
Kaily Christensen stepped into the middle of the C of I order and torched opposing pitching in Arizona, going 13-for-21 at the plate with a double, a homer, seven runs and nine RBI. Her five-hit game against Arizona Christian tied her with
Molly Mills and Kalie Kurdy for a single game program record. Christensen has started her career with a six-game hitting streak and has added four multiple RBI games.
Â
HARD-HITTING HATTIE: Sophomore outfielder
Hattie Hruza slammed a pair of home runs in the desert, wrapping up the weekend with two doubles, two home runs and eight runs batted in. Her nine total bases in the opener at Arizona Christian tied Dani Villyard (2008) for the most in a single game in program history.

LOFFER A LEADING BAT: Junior
Haley Loffer went 8-for-18 with three doubles, a home run, two RBI and a pair of steals to start the season. Loffer has posted a six-game hitting streak to start the year.
Â
UNDEFEATED WHEN SCORING FIVE OR MORE: C of I has won all four games this season when the Yotes have plated five or more runs.
Â
NEARING A RECORD: C of I has not been shutout in a game since a 3-0 loss at Southern Oregon last April. The streak of 36 consecutive games is inching towards the program record (43) for games without being shutout, which was set back in the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
Â
CLOSE TO HISTORY: Head coach
Al Mendiola is the winningest coach in C of I softball program history with 392 wins. In his 15th season, Mendiola is now just eight wins away from 400, which would put him in company with his wife
Liz Mendiola - the head volleyball coach - as the only women's sports coaches to eclipse the 400 wins threshold in school history.
