KANSAS CITY, Mo. – College of Idaho junior midfielder
Lily Schlake was named an honorable mention selection to the NAIA Women's Soccer All-America Team that was announced on Wednesday by the national office.
Schlake led the way for the Yotes offensively this season with a team-high nine goals to go along with three assists. Of her nine goals, three came on penalty kicks, tying her for the most in a single-season in program history. Last month she was recognized as a first-team All-Cascade Conference pick.
As part of a huge breakout season for the Rocky Mountain High product, Schlake scored the game-winner in the 98th minute at Linfield and had a two-goal contest in a 4-0 win at Multnomah.
This is the second season in a row that the C of I women's soccer program has had an honorable mention All-American, as
Kaya Evans received the recognition during the spring campaign. In total, Schlake is the fifth player in program history to be named an honorable mention All-American. Colleen Smith was named a second-team All-American in 2009.
The Yotes went 14-7 overall this year and 9-3 in conference play, earning a trip to nationals for the second consecutive season.
