CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho concluded a weekend split with a 66-53 loss to Lewis-Clark State on Saturday afternoon in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Warriors (10-1, 4-1 CCC) were led by the 21 points of Callie Stevens, who went 8-for-12 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the perimeter.
After trailing 18-9 after the first 10 minutes, the Yotes (8-5, 2-3 CCC) went on a 14-2 run over the first 4:28 of the second quarter to take a 23-20 lead.
LCSC quickly responded with a 10-0 run of their own to build another lead. A 6-0 run by C of I to end the first half was capped by a
Jada Reed layup with 10 seconds left in the second quarter.
Allie Cannon then gave the Yotes a 32-30 advantage less than a minute into the second half, however an 8-0 run by the Warriors helped to ensure that LCSC would not trail for the remainder of the game, building the lead to as many as 15.
Despite the loss,
Lexi Mitchell had a career day on the boards, bringing down a career-high 20 rebounds. The 20 boards from Mitchell marked the first time since Feb. 25, 2014 that C of I has had a player reach 20. Chakala Carthen had 24 against Northwest on that day.
In addition,
Sienna Riggle had a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.

By posting a 46-39 edge in rebounds, the Yotes outrebounded the opposition for the 10th time this season.
C of I next returns to action after the break on Dec. 31 at Bushnell.
