CORVALLIS, Ore. - Fresh off their individual championships, College of Idaho's
Logan Hunt and
Ellyse Tingelstad were honored today as WVT Laboratory Cascade Conference Runners of the Week, announced by the league office.
Hunt, a sophomore from Athol, was named CCC Men's Runner of the Year at the conclusion of the CCC Championships, helping the Coyote men win their third league title in the last four years. He blitzed the field of 84 runners - recording the only sub-25 minute time on the 8,000-meter course, becoming just the third C of I runner to win the league crown.
Tingelstad, a sophomore from Joseph, Ore., was named CCC Women's Runner of the Year at the conclusion of the meet, as she led a dominating performance by the C of I women, as the Yotes won their third-straight league title. It was Tingelstad's second-straight individual race win of the season and was the third C of I runner to win the CCC meet.
In addition, both C of I teams finish the regular-season in the NAIA Top-10 - as the women's team remains at No. 6, while the men's team climbed to No. 10 in the latest NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll.
Both teams will head to Vancouver, Wash., next week for the NAIA National Championships.
