VANCOUVER, Wash. –
Logan Hunt became the third College of Idaho men's cross country runner to earn a podium finish at the NAIA Championships, taking third-place today, helping the Coyotes place fifth overall at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
Hunt traversed the 8,000-meter course in 24:58.90 – joining Greg Montgomery who placed second-overall in 2012 and Alex Martin, who placed third-overall in 2019 – as medalists, all on the same Fort Vancouver circuit.
C of I recorded 222 team points in the 36-team field, recording their third all-time fifth-place or better finish at Nationals. The 2016 team took fourth overall, with the 2019 squad taking fifth.
Daniel Butler joined Hunt on the All-America team, placing 33rd overall (25:49.30) – as all five of the Yotes scoring racers were in the Top-75.
Hayden Bostrom took 66th (26:22.60),
Braden Heath took 73rd (26;28.00) and
Ian Jackson placed 74th (26:28.30).
Milligan (Tenn.) claimed the top prize with 116 team points, ahead of St. Mary (Kan.) (175), Indiana Wesleyan (186), St. Francis (Ill.) (216) and the Yotes. C of I finished as the top Cascade Conference team, as Lewis-Clark State was sixth, Oregon Tech in 12
th, Southern Oregon in 14th, Eastern Oregon in 20th, Northwest in 21st and Bushnell in 36th.
