SALEM, Ore. – Despite a match-high 16 digs from
Isabelle Combs, The College of Idaho dropped a 25-18, 25-11, 25-16 decision at No. 6 ranked Corban University inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
The Yotes (8-13, 5-8 CCC), in the midst of a stretch of 9-of-11 road games, opened the match strong, before the host Warriors rallied for a Set 1 win and completed the three-set sweep to record their 19th-straight win.
C of I jumped out to an 11-7 lead in the opening frame after consecutive blocks from
Jade Warren. The Warriors (19-0, 13-0) countered with consecutive Makenna Campbell aces in an 11-2 run that gave the hosts the lead.
Rylee Troutman added four kills in Set 2, as Corban opened the set on a 20-9 run, while the Warriors scored 12 of the first 16 points of Set 3 to roll to the win.
Corban had a 35-32 edge in total kills and a 7-3 edge in blocks.
Warren led C of I with eight kills and three blocks, with
Danielle Neuman posting six kills without a hitting error. Combs added three assists on the night.
The Yotes continue their long road swing next weekend with matches at Walla Walla and Lewis-Clark State.
