Cameron Wallace had nine kills and three blocks and the College of Idaho had a dominating 41-20 edge in kills, as the Yotes rolled to a 25-8, 25-14, 25-21 win over Walla Walla University at Windemuth Court.
The Coyotes (9-13, 6-8 CCC) improved to 4-3 in road conference matches this season, winning their 12th-straight match-up against WWU.
C of I dominated the first two sets, scoring 12-straight points in Set 1 to record their most lopsided win of the season, while using a 6-point run in Set 2 to build an insurmountable 16-6 lead.
The Wolves (0-15, 0-14) hung tough in Set 3, getting consecutive Alex Wiedemann aces in a 6-0 surge to give the hosts a 15-13 lead. Tied at 18-18, the Yotes got three key Wallace kills in a late run to help the team complete the victory.
Isabelle Combs had a season-high eight kills and added a match-high 17 digs, while both
Austyn Mauzy and
Danielle Neuman had five kills without an error in limited action.
Sidney Frith led all players with 32 assists.
The Coyotes head to Lewiston tomorrow for a key 5 p.m. match-up at Lewis-Clark State.
