LEWISTON, Idaho –
Jade Warren had nine kills and a career-high 10 blocks – including huge plays in the final two sets, as The College of Idaho rallied for a 5-set victory over Lewis-Clark State inside the LCSC Activity Center.
The Yotes (10-13, 7-8 CCC) picked up their second 5-set road win of the season with the 18-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 15-11victory.
Down 2-sets-to-1 and trailing 17-13 in Set 4, Warren fueled a 9-1 C of I run with three-straight blocks, the of five blocks by the junior in the set, as the Yotes powered to the set win.
Warren continued her strong play in Set 5, recording a pair of kills and two additional blocks in a 8-2 run that built the visitors a 10-4 lead. LCSC (11-12, 6-9) battled to within 13-11, but kills from
Cameron Wallace and
Danielle Neuman closed out the match.
LC forced eight C of I attack errors in Set 1, jumping out to a 16-9 lead to claim the early lead. The Yotes flipped the momentum in Set 2, getting two kills and two blocks from Wallace in an 8-1 run that gave C of I an 18-9 lead. The Coyotes built an 11-8 lead in Set 3, before Cassidy Nelson smashed four kills in a 12-2 Warrior run that helped the hosts earn the set win.
Wallace finished the night with nine kills and five blocks, with
Emily Vandenberg recording 12 kills, nine digs and two blocks for the Yotes – who finished the evening with a season-high 15 team blocks.
Sidney Frith had a season-high 41 assists and 12 digs, with
Sydnee Steel leading all C of I players with 15 digs.
Nelson led LCSC with 22 kills.
C of I closes out their 5-match road trip on Tuesday at Eastern Oregon.
