BILLINGS, Mont. – Rocky Mountain took advantage of their limited opportunities, scoring single goals in each half to stop College of Idaho's 8-match win streak with a 2-0 victory at Wendy's Field.
Played on a wet pitch, with the majority of the match centered between the 18s, the Battlin' Bears converted the lone shots on frame into goals.
Rocky took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, as Amber Pearson played a thru-ball to the feet of Halle Labert, who found the back of the net.
While the Battlin' Bears defense limited C of I to just three total shots, the hosts added to their lead in the 68th minute – as Maja Albertsen followed a Pearson shot off the crossbar and slotted home the counter.
Rocky finished with a 9-3 edge in total shots, with the Yotes posting a 4-2 edge in corners.
C of I returns home next weekend, hosting Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech at Simplot Stadium.
