SAN DIEGO, Calif. –
Nick Kindred threw six innings of solid relief, as the College of Idaho rallied behind a 12-hit attack to defeat Baker (Kan.), 11-4, in the final game of their Southern California road trip at Morley Park.
The left-hander allowed just two runs on six hits, striking out two, picking up his first win in a C of I uniform, as the Yotes (3-10) ended the trek with a 2-3 mark.
Trailing 1-0 after two innings, the Coyotes took the lead on an
Anthony Pannullo RBI single in the third, adding RBI singles from
Ben Hansen and
Ryan Nolan in the fourth, with
Matthew Clay extended the margin to 6-1 in the sixth with a 2-out, 2-run single.
The Coyotes pushed the lead to 8-3 in the seventh with a Hansen RBI ground out and a
Weston Miller bases loaded walk; adding a run in the eight as
Carter Vieira scored on a wild pitch; while scoring two ninth inning runs on miscues by the Wildcats (1-5).
Jonah Hultberg ran his hit streak to nine games with his seventh multi-hit game of 2020, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, with Nolan and Vieira each recording two hits.
C of I returns home next weekend, hosting Simpson University in a 4-game series at Wolfe Field.
