LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State hit four home runs in the first three innings, as the Warriors opened a four-game series with the College of Idaho with a 12-0 victory at Ed Cheff Stadium.
Jack Johnson and Brock Ephan each hit their league-leading fourth home runs of the year – Johnson a 2-run shot in the first inning and Ephan roping a solo homer in the third, as the Warriors (8-5, 3-2) earned the home win.
C of I (6-16, 2-3) got a pair of hits from
Ryan Nolan – extending his hitting streak to 13 games – but were unable starter Eric Chavarria, who struck out five in six innings of work.
Three Coyote relievers combined to toss 3.2 innings of shutout ball –
Luke Brewer,
Ben Tighe and
John Duffy.
The two teams meet tomorrow in a Noon doubleheader.
