Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Coyotes Blast NW Christian, Improve to 19-0 in CCC

EUGENE, Ore. – College of Idaho scored the first 16 points of the night – making 16 3-pointers on the evening – as the No. 1-ranked Coyotes set a Cascade Conference record for league wins in a season with a 100-58 victory over Northwest Christian at Morse Event Center.

The Yotes (26-3, 19-0 CCC) extended their win streak to 20 games, as six players scored in double-figures – avenging a road loss to NCU last season. C of I surpassed their 2017-18 squad for the most CCC men's basketball wins in league history – as the previous squad finished 18-2.

C of I blitzed the nets early, as Nate Bruneel drained a pair of 3-pointers and both Ricardo Time and Talon Pinckney added long-range buckets, as the Yotes took a 16-0 lead just four minutes into the game.

A 13-point flurry midway through the half – keyed by triples from Bruneel, Time and Charles Elzie – extended the margin to 35-9 – as the Coyotes made 9-of-17 3-pointers before the break. The margin grew to as many as 47-points in the second half.

Elzie led the Yotes with a career-high 16 points, with both Bruneel and Jalen Galloway each scoring 15. Time and Ivory Miles-Williams each scored 12, with Pinckney adding 10. C of I had a commanding 52-34 edge on the glass and committed just eight turnovers in the contest.

C of I limited the Beacons (14-15, 9-10) to just 32-percent shooting from the field – with Stevie Schlabach leading NCU with 22 points.

The Coyotes close out the regular-season tomorrow night with a 7:30 p.m. (PT) match-up at Corban.
