CORVALLIS, Ore. - For the second-straight week, College of Idaho players swept Red Lion-NAIA Player of the Week Awards, announced by the league office.
Jonah Hultberg was named Hitter of the Week for the second time, while
Nick Kindred was named Pitcher of the Week.
Hultberg, a freshman from Meridian, hit safely in all five games during C of I's trip to California - extending his overall hit streak to nine games. The catcher went 10-for-18 with five runs scored on the trip, upping his batting average to a league-leading .432.
Kindred, a senior from Boerne, Texas, picked up a save and a win for the Yotes in games against Baker (Kan.). The lefty got the final five outs in Friday's 9-6 win, while pitching six innings of two-run relief in Sunday's 11-4 win. He allowed just seven hits in the 7.2 innings of work, striking out three without a walk.
The Yotes return to action this weekend, hosting Simpson University in a 4-game series.
