Both Cross Country Teams Start 2019 Ranked in Top-10

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Both College of Idaho cross country teams will begin the 2019 season ranked in the Top-10 of the NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll, released today by the national office.

The Coyote men open the season ranked No. 6 - the 22nd-straight polling period that C of I has been ranked among the Top-10. The Yotes received 502 points from the 21 conference raters and were one of four Cascade Conference teams in the poll - joined by No. 4 Southern Oregon, No. 18 Eastern Oregon and No. 24 Oregon Tech.

The C of I women begin 2019 ranked No. 9 in the tabulation - the 81st-straight week the squad has been in the poll - tops in the NAIA. The Yotes received 416 points from the 21 conference raters and were one of four CCC teams in the rankings - including No. 4 Southern Oregon, No. 7 and defending national champion, Oregon Tech, along with No. 18 Northwest Christian.

The teams will compete this weekend on campus in their annual Purple and White intrasquad race, before beginning the 2019 season on Sept. 13 at the Eastern Oregon Open.
