2019 Softball Game Notes (Week 13 - Opening Round)

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE: Game 1 – William Carey vs. C of I, Monday, 11 a.m. (CT); Game 2 – Vanguard vs. William Woods, Monday, 1 p.m. (CT); Game 3 – Winner 1 vs. Winner 2, Tuesday, 11 a.m. (CT); Game 4 – Loser 1 vs. Loser 2, Tuesday, 1 p.m. (CT); Game 5 – Winner 4 vs. Loser 3, Tuesday, 3 p.m. (CT); Game 6 – Winner 3 vs. Winner 5, 11 a.m. (CT); Game 7 – if necessary.
 
TRAVEL INFORMATION: The Yotes will be traveling Saturday via Southwest and United Airlines to New Orleans, before making the 2-hour drive to Hattiesburg, Miss., the site of the Opening Round Tournament. C of I will stay at the Doubletree by Hilton in Hattiesburg (10 Gateway Drive, 601-296-0302) – with limited rooms currently available. The team will return to the Treasure Valley at the conclusion of the tournament.
 
ABOUT THE OPENING ROUND: A total of 40 teams will begin competition on Monday at 10 Opening Round sites (Springfield, Mo.; Marion, Ind.; Oklahoma City; Columbia (Mo.); Lawrenceville, Ga.; Hattiesburg, Miss.; Dodge City, Kan.; Medford, Ore.; Gulf Shores, Ala.) – with the champions of each of the 10 brackets advancing to the NAIA Softball World Series, set for May 23-29, in Springfield, Mo.
