In a match-up of Top-15 teams, eighth-ranked C of I (6-0) trailed the No. 13 ranked Banana Slugs 4-1 in the second quarter and 6-5 early in the third period, before that Coyote attack took over. Henning tied the game with an unassisted strike and

Hank Ontiveros pass with just under nine minutes left in the quarter. Henning scored on a counter-attack to give the Yotes a two-goal lead and extended the margin to 11-6 with an unassisted marker 90 seconds into the fourth quarter.
UCSC (9-2) started quickly, getting two Kyle Rodney goals in the opening quarter, holding the Yotes without a goal for the first 13 minutes – taking a 3-0 lead. The Slugs had a 4-1 edge before C of I scored the final four goals of the second quarter – two by Henning and two from Ontiveros.
Walker had a hat trick for the Coyotes, with both Ontiveros and
Casey Davies recording two goals and two assists.
C of I closes out the road trip with a PNCLL match-up at Southern Oregon tomorrow at Noon (PT).
