Alyssa Case Named CCC Defensive Player of the Year

LA GRANDE, Ore. – College of Idaho guard Alyssa Case was honored as Cascade Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year, as the All-CCC teams were announced by the league office.

The senior, from Meridian, was also selected to the All-CCC team for the second consecutive season, while Madison Holly was named an honorable mention pick.

Case was instrumental in the Yotes advancing to the semifinals of the CCC Championships – leading the league with 70 total steals – and finishing her career with 223 steals, one of five players in program history to surpass the 200-steal mark. She averaged 11.4 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds per game, helping C of I finish with a 16-14 record, their first winning season since 2013-14.

Holly, a senior from Nampa, had a banner second half of the year – finishing the season averaging 12.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, while making a team-high 49 3-point baskets. She was key down the stretch, averaging 19 points and five rebounds a game over C of I's final five contests – including a pair of 29-point scoring games.
