Yotes Advance to CCC Title Game, Blast Northwest 95-59

CALDWELL, Idaho – For the second-straight postseason game, the College of Idaho dominated on both ends of the floor, breaking the school record for margin of victory in a playoff game for the second time in 72 hours, rolling past Northwest University, 95-59, in the semifinals of the Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Coyotes (27-5) will play for their fourth title in six seasons, hosting No. 6 seed Southern Oregon on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. SOU got a last-second 3-pointer to stun Corban, 76-74.

C of I used a 29-8 first half run to erase a 16-13 Eagles (15-17) lead – as Justin Saunders started the rally with back-to-back jumpers, Gibson Berryhill splashed consecutive triples and Connor Desaulniers scored a pair of low post buckets in the flurry.

Hussayn Ford pulled NU within 51-39 early in the second half, before the Yotes blew the game open with a second 29-8 run. Nate Bruneel started the push with seven quick points, Jake Bruner and Derek Wadsworth each hit 3's and Berryhill capped the rally with reverse lay-up to give the hosts an 80-47 lead.

The Coyotes made 56-percent of their field goals, including 12-of-22 from outside the arc, while limiting NU to just 29-percent shooting in the second half. C of I forced 17 turnovers, scoring 22 points off the Eagle miscues.

Bruneel led a balanced scoring attack with 20 points, with Berryhill scoring 13 off the bench. Both Bruner and Ivory Miles-Williams each scored nine, with Desaulniers adding eight points and six rebounds on 4-of-4 shooting.

Ford led all scorers with 22 points and 11 rebounds, with Josh Meyer adding 14 for NU.
