KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech took advantage of a rough shooting night by the College of Idaho, limiting the Yotes to a season-low scoring output, as the Owls cruised to a 73-47 victory at Danny Miles Court.
Tech (22-8, 16-4 CCC) ran their win streak to 12 in a row with the victory – spoiling an opportunity for the Yotes to host a Cascade Conference Tournament quarterfinal game in Caldwell. C of I finishes the regular-season with a 15-13 record and an 11-9 conference mark, earning the No. 5 seed in the upcoming tourney – traveling Tuesday for a rematch at Southern Oregon.
After an even first 12 minutes of the game, OIT closed the second quarter on an 11-4 run – taking a 28-19 lead to the locker room. The hosts opened the second half on a 10-2 run, including five points from Abby Kreiser, pushing the margin to 46-27 and cruised to the victory.
Mackenzie Royce led C of I with 20 points, making 7-of-14 field goals, including three 3-pointers – but the rest of the squad combined to make just 10-of-50 field goals and 1-of-16 3-point attempts.
Nohea Waiwaiole led OIT with 15 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, with both Kreiser and Bailey Nelson scoring 10.
