CALDWELL, Idaho - The opening game of the weekend 5-game series between the College of Idaho and Saint Martin's University baseball programs has been postponed by rain.
The two teams will now play a Friday doubleheader, beginning at 11 a.m. The remaining schedule for Saturday (doubleheader at 11 a.m.) and Sunday (single game at 11 a.m.) remains intact.
Nearly 24 hours of steady rain hit the Treasure Valley - beginning Wednesday morning - dumping over one inch of water on the Wolfe Field playing surface. Though the artificial turf infield is in playable shape, water in the natural grass outfield forced the teams to move today's game into a Friday doubleheader to give the Yotes extra time to work on field prep.
C of I heads into the weekend with a 4-7 overall record, while SMU dropped 3-of-4 games in a trip to Utah and California.
