CALDWELL, Idaho – Southern Oregon spoiled Senior Night for the College of Idaho, as the Raiders kept pace atop the Cascade Conference standings with a 25-16, 25-14, 25-16 victory inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
Maddie Pernich had 13 kills and Taylor Ristvedt had 12 kills in the win for the No. 9-ranked Raiders (24-3, 16-2 CCC), their tenth victory in a row, as SOU recorded an impressive .393 hitting percentage.
Pernich and Ristvedt combined for five kills in a 11-3 Set 1 run to give the Raiders a 20-10 lead, while Ristvedt added three additional kills in a 12-5 run that gave SOU a 16-9 lead.
The Yotes (15-10, 10-8) battled tough in Set 3 – as consecutive
Kylie Crossland kills sparked an 8-2 run that got the hosts within 15-14. SOU answered with a Ristvedt kill that started a 10-2 run that closed the match.
Ashley Pagan had six kills and 11 digs to lead the Yotes and
Mackenzie Keating added six kills, but C of I finished with 32 kills and 24 attack errors in the loss.
The match was the final home regular-season contest for Pagan, Keating and
Josie Whitehead.
C of I hits the road next weekend for their final two regular-season matches, traveling to Warner Pacific and Multnomah.
