KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University combined for 15 blocks and 10 aces on the night, as the Eagles defeated The College of Idaho in four sets at Kristi Brodin Pavilion.
The Eagles (12-11, 10-7 CCC) moved past the Yotes into fourth-place in the Cascade Conference standings heading into the final two weekend of the regular-season with the 25-20, 25-20, 17-25, 25-16 win.
NU did not trail in the first two sets – jumping out to a 7-2 lead in Set 1 and scoring the final three points after the Yotes (14-9, 9-7) pulled within 22-20, while Abigail Broussard recorded three-straight aces in a 5-point Set 2 push that broke open a 15-14 game.
C of I trailed 13-9 in Set 3 before a monster 14-2 run – keyed by a two kills and two blocks from both
Mackenzie Keating and
Jade Warren – to force Set 4. NU broke out to a 13-5 lead in the deciding frame to close out the win.
Ashley Pagan led the Yotes with 14 kills and 16 digs, with Keating recording seven kills and eight blocks and Warren finishing with six kills and nine blocks.
Tatiana Ensz led NU with 12 kills and 10 digs, with Broussard adding nine kills, seven blocks and four aces.
The Yotes return home next weekend for matches against Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
