ROCKLIN, Calif. - The College of Idaho men's cross country team made a statement heading into the Cascade Conference Championships, dominating some of the top teams on the West Coast, rolling to a convincing win at the Warrior Invite at Spring View Park.
The Yotes placed their five scoring runners in the Top-15, with a 20-second gap between their No. 1 and No. 4 finishers to record 36 place points - well ahead of nationally ranked teams from Southern Oregon (67), The Masters (94), Oregon Tech (124) and Eastern Oregon (158).
Josh Frey had his best performance as a Coyote, leading four C of I runners in the Top-8 with a third-place finish (24:32).
Alex Martin was right behind him in fourth-place (24:38), with
Cole Campbell in sixth (24:49) and
Marcos Cervantes in eighth (24:52).
Bryce Odegard closed out the Coyote scorers in 15th (25:15).
C of I will train next week, preparing for the CCC Championships, Nov. 8, in Cottage Grove, Ore.
