No. 7 Carroll Defeats Yotes 79-54 in Season Opener

HELENA, Mont. – Four players posted double-digit scoring outputs for No. 7 Carroll as the Fighting Saints defeated The College of Idaho 79-54 on Thursday afternoon.

After an hour delay prior to the game due to a power outage in the area, the Fighting Saints (1-1) would turn it on from the field, shooting 7-of-19 from the perimeter and 32-of-63 from the floor.

The Yotes (0-1) were able to stay within striking distance throughout until a 14-2 run by Carroll starting with 3:37 left in the third quarter extended the lead to 66-42.

Prior to the hot stretch for the home team, C of I utilized back-to-back baskets from Mackenzie Royce-Radford and Kaylee Krusemark to cut the lead to 43-35 with 8:21 on the clock in the third quarter. That was as close as the Yotes would get the rest of the way, as the Fighting Saints went on a 9-2 run following the Krusemark basket.

Royce-Radford highlighted the offensive attack for the Yotes, making 7-of-12 field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers to finish with 21 points. Emily Harwood tallied eight points, while 10 other players got involved in the scoring, including the first career points at C of I for Lexi Mitchell (3), Kate Renfro (3), Emma Anthony (2) and Tayla Sayer (2).
