PORTLAND, Ore. –
Alex Martin recorded his third-straight Top-10 finish of the season, helping the College of Idaho place second in a deep field at the Warner Pacific Open at Lents Park.
The Yotes had a tight gap of runners on the day, with 39 seconds between their No. 1 and No. 5 runners to earn 57 place-points – finishing behind Division I Portland (19) in the standings. C of I finished ahead Division I Portland State (94), Corban (120) and Willamette (168).
Martin clocked an 8,000-meter time of 25:30 on the wet course, placing eighth overall – behind the top four runners for the Pilots – including individual champ, Joe Horen (25:02).
Alex Frey placed 13th (25:43),
Marcos Cervantes was 14th (25:45), with
Cole Campbell 16th (25:47), while
Braden Heath finished as the Yotes No. 5 runner in 26:09, placing 26th.
