KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A Salyna Blue goal in the 24th minute led Oregon Tech to a 1-0 victory over the College of Idaho on Saturday afternoon.
The shot from Blue came off an assist from Haley Janky, who found her teammate from 10-yards out. Blue would do the rest, firing a shot past diving goalkeeper
Kylee Atkins to give the Owls (7-2-3, 4-0-2 CCC) a 1-0 lead.
Atkins once again faced plentiful action in front of her in this one, with 19 shots total for OIT and eight shots on goal. C of I (3-4-4, 2-3-2 CCC) had seven shots and five on goal.
Madison Glascock once again led the Yotes attack with two shots on frame, while
Payton Anderson,
Lexie Hibler and
Sydney Clements all had one individually. Oregon Tech had seven corner kicks in the match, including five in the second half. C of I had all four of their corners come in the first half.
The loss marks the first time this season that the Yotes have lost when giving up one goal or less, dropping that record to 3-1-4.
C of I concludes the weekend trip to Oregon with one point after the draw against SOU yesterday. The Yotes next return to action on Oct. 20 at Rocky Mountain in Montana.
