BILLINGS, Mont. –
Maddie Brown slotted home the lone goal of the contest and the College of Idaho defense did the rest, as the Lady Yotes picked up three huge points in the Cascade Conference table with a 1-0 victory at Rocky Mountain College.
C of I (4-2-1, 1-2 CCC) ended a two-match losing streak and won for the first time at Herb Klindt Field since 2009.
The Bears (4-3-1, 0-2-1) had a quality chance in the sixth minute, as Shasta Grant launched a 25-yard drive that banged off the left post. However, the two teams played even until the 41st minute, when
Madison Glascock played a through-ball, finding the foot of Brown, who slotted home the winner.
The second half was dominated by the Yotes – as Rocky did not have a shot over the final 20 minutes of the contest. Freshman keeper
Shae Waters made three saves to earn her first career shutout.
C of I held a 20-13 edge in total shots and had six of the nine corner kick chances.
The Yotes close out their season-opening nine-match road trip on Thursday with a date at Eastern Oregon.
