purchased online.
Â
A DIVISION I OPPONENT FOR A SECOND-STRAIGHT YEAR: C of I will play an NCAA Division I team for the second consecutive year, as Portland State jumped from the Division II to the Division I (FCS) ranks in 1996. The Yotes traveled last September to PSU's Big Sky Conference rival Northern Colorado, dropping a 41-14 decision to the Bears.
GAMES AGAINST NOW D-I OPPONENTS: Since football returned, the Yotes are 2-2 in non-league games (including a 2-1 record against NCAA Division III teams). During the original era of C of I football (1905-77) the Coyotes played 15 teams currently at the NCAA Division I level (Boise State, BYU, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana State, Nevada, Sam Houston State, San Jose State, Southern Utah, Utah State, Washington State and Weber State) - though nearly all of the teams were either junior colleges, NAIA or NCAA Division II opponents at the time. C of I posted a record of 34-58-1 against the current Division I teams - including four wins vs. Boise State, eight wins against Eastern Washington and 17 wins vs. Idaho State
