Alyssa Case scored seven of her game-high 15 points in a key fourth quarter run, as the College of Idaho ran their win streak to five games and clinched a Cascade Conference Tournament berth in the process, toppling Multnomah University, 56-38, inside Lytle Gymnasium.
The Lady Yotes (9-14, 9-8 CCC) ran their postseason streak to 19 straight years by forcing 23 turnovers in completing the season sweep of MU.
Leading just 37-32 late in the third quarter, C of I outscored the Lions (1-26, 1-16) 14-4 over the next eight minutes to break the contest open.
Keahi Roy converted a turn-around hook shot at the horn to extend the lead to 40-32 at the break, with Case draining a triple and consecutive short jumpers to extend the lead to 51-36 with four minutes to go.
Case had five rebounds and four of the Yotes 15 steals in the victory, with Roy logging 13 points and four steals and
Jocelyn Cook-Cox scoring 12.
Sophia Jackson had six points and a career 11 rebounds, as C of I held a 42-35 edge on the glass.
The Lions got 12 points from Tiara Chinn – all from outside the arc – and Faith Kraatz scored eight points with 13 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and five steals.
C of I closes out their road schedule tomorrow with a 5:30 p.m. match-up at Warner Pacific.
