LA GRANDE, Ore. - College of Idaho's
Marcos Cervantes was honored as the Red Lion-Cascade Conference Runner of the Week, announced by the league information office.
The junior, from Boise, won the individual title at the CCC Championships, traversing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 24:59 - helping C of I win their first-ever team title.
For his efforts, Cervantes was named CCC Runner of the Year in a balloting of league coaches.
In addition, C of I head coach
Austin Basterrechea was named Men's Coach of the Year after leading the Yotes to the conference title.
The Coyotes will return to action a week from Friday at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
