Freshmen Lead Coyotes to 71-48 Win Over Montana Tech

CALDWELL, Idaho – Freshmen Jalen Galloway and Derek Wadsworth each scored a career-high 12 points, helping the College of Idaho remain perfect on the season with a 71-48 victory over Montana Tech in the late game of the Domino's Classic.

The No. 3-ranked Yotes (8-0) will meet Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) in tomorrow's 7 p.m. title game – after ERAU earned an 89-83 victory over previously unbeaten Multnomah in tonight's first game.

C of I erased an 8-6 lead by the Orediggers (5-2) with a 9-0 first half run – getting a Nate Bruneel triple, a Talon Pinckney four-point play and a fade away Gibson Berryhill jumper.

Trailing 33-24 at the break, Tech cut the margin to 39-34 on a Taylor England put-back bucket, but the Coyotes blew the game wide open with a back-breaking 16-2 run. Galloway drained two triples and a fastbreak lay-up in the rally – as C of I forced 12 second half turnovers.

The Yotes limited the Diggers to 36-percent shooting from the field – with Tech going 0-for-10 from 3-point range.

Galloway was 5-of-6 from the field, adding four rebounds, while Wadsworth went 3-for-5 from 3-point range and had a pair of steals.

Pinckney led the Yotes with 13 points and Berryhill scored 10, with Keun Palu-Thompson adding six points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Dylan Pannabecker led Tech with 14 points and England had 12 points with seven rebounds.

In the first game, Logan Skurdal scored a tournament record 35 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with two minutes left, leading ERAU to the victory over Multnomah.

MU (5-1) trailed 56-44 early in the second half, but Justin Martin scored 20 of his 33 points after the break – rallying the Lions to an 80-78 lead after an Andy Brown lay-up.  However, Skurdal hit consecutive triples down the stretch to lift the Eagles to the win.
