CALDWELL, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene used a 24-5 run midway through the second quarter to break open a close game, as the Nighthawks upended the College of Idaho, 86-61, in a women's basketball exhibition inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Division II squad built a 25-11 lead late in the first quarter, only to see the Lady Yotes battle back, outscoring NNU 12-2 over the next three minutes.
Kaylee Krusemark and
Alyssa Case each hit 3's, with
Sophia Jackson and
Kiersten Rasmussen each converting short jumpers, as the Lady Yotes cut the margin to 27-23 with eight minutes left in the half.
The Nighthawks answered – as consecutive 3's from Erin Jenkins and Avery Albrecht started the big run, as the visitors built a 53-30 halftime lead.
The lead ballooned to 64-35 with four minutes left in the third, before C of I made one final push.
Sophia Jackson scored five points in the 14-2 run that got the hosts within 66-49 early in the fourth quarter, before NNU put the game away.
Krusemark scored 11 of her 14 points in the first half to lead the way for C of I, with Jackson adding 12. The Yotes were plagued by 30 turnovers – as the visitors turned the miscues into 39 points.
Albrecht led NNU with 18 points, with Marina Valles scoring 13 and both Ellie Logan and Erin Jenkins scoring 12. The Nighthawks held a 54-38 rebound margin – including 25 offensive boards.
C of I closes out their exhibition season next Saturday, traveling to Utah State for a 4 p.m. tip-off.
