Coyotes Complete Weekend Sweep, Stop Evergreen 77-67

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Roosevelt Adams and Aziz Leeks each recorded double-doubles, two of five College of Idaho players in double-figures, as the Coyotes completed a weekend sweep along Puget Sound with a 77-67 win at the Evergreen State College inside Costantino Recreation Center.

The No. 12 ranked Coyotes (12-5, 6-1 CCC) won their fourth-straight Cascade Conference game and improved to 4-1 on the road in league play this season – winning for the 15th-straight time against the Geoducks.

Leading 41-35 at the half, C of I watched the Geoducks (2-15, 1-7) cut the margin to 45-44 on a Jaurence Chisholm jumper three minutes into the period. A Talon Pinckney trey and a steal and basket by Adams started a 15-3 run that broke the game wide open, with the visitors withstanding a five minute scoring drought late in picking up the win.

Pinckney was a perfect 4-of-4 from 3-point range – including a trio of triples after the break – part of an 18-point night.  Adams came off the bench to score 16 points with 10 rebounds, while local product Keun Palu-Thompson scored 14 points – including a thunderous dunk late in the contest.  Leeks finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds – his league leading ninth double-double of the year, while Gibson Berryhill scored 11.  C of I made 11-of-22 3-point attempts and held a dominating 39-25 edge on the boards.

Pat Ling led TESC with 19 points and Ryan Quigley scored 18 in the loss.

The Coyotes return home for a first-place matchup Friday night against nationally-ranked Warner Pacific. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
