Kiara Skinner scored 14 of her team-high 20 points in a big third quarter run, as the College of Idaho extended their win streak to four games with a 60-47 victory at Multnomah University.
The senior scored the Lady Yotes (10-12, 10-6 CCC) first six points of the third quarter, as C of I broke free from a tight 24-23 game at the break. Skinner closed the period with consecutive 3-point baskets, giving the visitors a 43-32 lead.
The margin would grow to 47-32 early in the fourth quarter on an
Alyssa Case lay-up before the Lions (6-18, 4-12) would score seven-straight points, capped by a Katherine Edmonds bucket in the paint, to cut the gap to 47-39 with six minutes to play. C of I would put the game away late, as
Jaycin Tini made a solid post move for a deuce and followed with a triple from the corner to seal the victory.
Skinner finished with five rebounds and a career-high five blocked shots in the win;
Petra Lumpert had 16 points and eight rebounds; with Tini recording 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. C of I shook off a rough shooting stretch by converting 54-percent of their second half field goals.
Miranda Schmillen led all scorers with 23 points and six rebounds – the lone MU player in double-figures. The Lions made just 27-percent of their field goal tries, including 3-of-20 shooting from distance.
C of I closes out the regular-season with four home dates – begin Friday night against No. 25 Oregon Tech.
