Skinner Scores 20, Leads Lady Yotes to Win at Multnomah

PORTLAND, Ore. – Kiara Skinner scored 14 of her team-high 20 points in a big third quarter run, as the College of Idaho extended their win streak to four games with a 60-47 victory at Multnomah University.

The senior scored the Lady Yotes (10-12, 10-6 CCC) first six points of the third quarter, as C of I broke free from a tight 24-23 game at the break. Skinner closed the period with consecutive 3-point baskets, giving the visitors a 43-32 lead.

The margin would grow to 47-32 early in the fourth quarter on an Alyssa Case lay-up before the Lions (6-18, 4-12) would score seven-straight points, capped by a Katherine Edmonds bucket in the paint, to cut the gap to 47-39 with six minutes to play.  C of I would put the game away late, as Jaycin Tini made a solid post move for a deuce and followed with a triple from the corner to seal the victory.

Skinner finished with five rebounds and a career-high five blocked shots in the win; Petra Lumpert had 16 points and eight rebounds; with Tini recording 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.  C of I shook off a rough shooting stretch by converting 54-percent of their second half field goals.

Miranda Schmillen led all scorers with 23 points and six rebounds – the lone MU player in double-figures.  The Lions made just 27-percent of their field goal tries, including 3-of-20 shooting from distance.

C of I closes out the regular-season with four home dates – begin Friday night against No. 25 Oregon Tech.
