PORTLAND, Ore. - A seven minute stretch without a made field goal late in the contest was the difference on the afternoon, as Portland Bible used the 12-0 run to pull away for a 69-63 victory over the College of Idaho in the PBC Gymnasium.
The Yotes (10-5) got back-to-back triples from
Nate Bruneel and
Gibson Berryhill midway through the second half to take a 55-49 lead. The hosts forced C of I into five missed shots and three turnovers on their next eight possessions - with Troy Woodward's mid-range jumper giving the Wildcats (4-8) the lead for good.
Four PBC players scored in double-figures, led by 17 points from Kenese Peneueta and 16 points from William Bratcher, as the duo combined to make 14-of-21 field goal attempts.
Talon Pinckney led C of I with 15 points, with
Keun Palu-Thompson adding 13 points and six rebounds. The Yotes committed 16 turnovers on the afternoon and lost despite making 12-of-29 3-point attempts.
C of I returns to action next Friday, traveling to Northwest University.
