CALDWELL, Idaho –
Alyssa Case had 21 points and
Madison Holly scored a career-high 13, but the College of Idaho could not hold an 8-point third quarter lead, as Corban University rallied for a 66-61 victory inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Lady Yotes (1-8, 1-2 CCC) closed the first half on an 8-2 run – getting 3s from Case and Holly and a
Jaida Klor runner, taking a 41-36 lead to the locker room. The lead extended to 48-40 on a
Jocelyn Cook-Cox jumper and clung to a 51-45 edge after a
Sophia Jackson triple with 4:33 left in the third quarter.
The Warriors (6-4, 3-1) closed the period on a 10-0 run – as Emily Yost scored six of her game-high 22 points in the surge – as Corban took the lead for good. C of I got within 57-55 after a Case lay-up – but made just 3-of-14 field goal tries in the final quarter.
Case made 4-of-7 3-pointers, adding nine rebounds and five assists in the loss for C of I. Holly canned three 3s as well, with Klor scoring nine points. The Yotes made a season-high 10 3-pointers on the night.
Yost made 10-of-11 field goals in the victory, with Boise State transfer Jordan Woodvine scoring 14 points with a game-high nine boards. Maci Bozett scored 10 – including a big 3-pointer in the final period. Corban hit 49-percent from the field and had a 38-28 edge in rebounds – winning the contest despite 21 turnovers.
The Lady Yotes return to action tomorrow night, hosting No. 24 Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m.
