OLYMPIA, Wash. – College of Idaho used an own goal to break a 1-1 tie and added a key insurance goal late, as the Lady Yotes punched their ticket to the Cascade Conference Championships with a 3-1 victory over Evergreen at Capital High School.
The Lady Yotes (7-8-1, 5-5-1) advance to the postseason for the fourth-straight season, earning the No. 7 seed and will face second-seeded Rocky Mountain College on Friday in Springfield, Ore., in the tournament quarterfinals at 8 p.m. (PT)
C of I took advantage of a scramble in front of the Geoducks (0-10-1, 0-13-2) box in the 55th minute, with a clearance attempt by the ESC defense glancing off a player and into the goal to give the Yotes the lead.
Off the ensuing restart,
Emma Powley collected a loose ball and beat the ESC defense on a 1-on-1 chance, driving a shot into the left corner of the net for the 3-1 edge.
It was enough for the Yotes, as C of I dominated play throughout – holding a 20-13 edge in total shots and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. Keeper

The Coyotes took an early lead in the eighth minute, as
Sabrina Mallett one-timed a rebound of a
Hailey Boyd shot into the net. ESC answered in the 40th minute, as Madison Early played a long throw in, with Maddie Lockwood making one move and driving a shot into the right corner of the net.
