No. 13 College of Idaho Sweeps Evergreen at Home

Junior Taylor Alexander posted a team-high 12 kills

CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's volleyball team took care of business tonight at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center, picking up a victory over The Evergreen State College in three sets. The Yotes move to 19-4 on the season (11-4 in CCC play) while the Geoducks fall to 7-15 (4-10 in CCC play).

The first set was the closest of the match, with the Yotes winning 25-20. While the match was close at the top, the Yotes pulled ahead 17-11 with two Taylor Alexander kills and a Geoduck attack error. Later, the Geoducks would try to comeback, bringing the score from 24-17 to 24-20 but an attack error would give the Yotes the set point. In the first set, the Yotes posted a hitting percentage of .300 while the Geoducks put up .079. 

The Yotes won the second set easily with a score of 25-13. They were aided by an attack percentage of .343 while the Geoducks put up .000. The fourth set was similar with the Yotes winning 25-18 with an attack percentage of .209 while the Geoducks had a .028. 

Alexander led the way for the Yotes with 12 kills and an attack percentage of .400. She also had one block. Alaina Slater and Jackie van Vliet led in blocks with two each. They also both put up seven kills. Slater put up an attack percentage of .500 while van Vliet was also solid with .235. Ashley Pagan led in digs with 14 (she also had six kills) and Kilee Lopez had 11 digs. Miah Perez led the way in aces with four. She also had two digs and six kills. 

The Yotes are back in action tomorrow night at 5 p.m. to take on Northwest University in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
