SALEM, Ore. – Lexi McQueary ripped a left footed 18-yard dart into the bottom right corner of the net for the game-winner, as Corban University outlasted the College of Idaho, 2-1, at the CFC Complex.
The win ended a Lady Yotes (5-7, 3-4 CCC) two-match win streak and was C of I's 13th-straight loss by a one-goal margin.
The Warriors (9-5-1, 6-2-1) opened the scoring in the 16th minute, as McQueary played a thru-ball to Ali Oatridge, who lined a shot from the top of the 18 past C of I keeper
Brittany Houghton.
The lead didn't last, as two minutes later as following a Corban foul,
Hailey Woods looped a ball off a set piece into the area, with
Emma Powley pouncing on the chance, driving a shot into the upper right corner of the twine to pull the squads even.
Houghton kept C of I in the match throughout, making a game-high seven saves. However, her diving attempt at McQueary's blast in the 58th minute eluded her finger tips – as the Warriors took the lead for good.
Corban held an 18-10 edge in total shots and had a 4-1 edge in corner attempts.
The Lady Yotes return home next weekend for matches against Eastern Oregon and Warner Pacific.
