CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho used a 15-0 second quarter run to take control of the contest, as the Lady Yotes extended their win streak to four games with an 84-60 victory over Multnomah University inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
Petra Lumpert scored a game-high 23 points, adding seven rebounds and seven assists – including a 3-point play in the big second quarter rally, as the Lady Yotes (5-8, 5-2 CCC) earned the league win.
After building a 14-7 first quarter lead, C of I saw the Lions (4-10, 2-5) got a pair of Ana Wakefield triples in a 16-3 run to take their largest lead of the night at 23-17 in the early moments of the second quarter. Back-to-back 3-pointers from
Maddie Skaggs and
Kiara Skinner started the Yotes run – as the hosts flipped the score, leading 32-23 at the under-five minute timeout.
MU closed the margin to 45-40 on a Miranda Schmillen 3-pointer early in the third quarter, only to see Lumpert score eight points in a 17-4 C of I run that gave the Yotes a 66-47 lead – a margin that would grow to as many as 30 in the fourth quarter.
Madison Pilster had 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds,
Alyssa Case scored 12 points with five rebounds and three steals, with
Jaycin Tini scoring 10. C of I made 45-percent of their field goal attempts, forced 26 turnovers and held a 46-34 edge on the glass.
The Lions were led by Lacie Kamper, who scored 15 points and added 11 rebounds, with Wakefield scoring 12 points – but had eight turnovers. MU made 39-percent of their field goal attempts.
C of I returns to action tomorrow night, hosting Warner Pacific at 5:30 p.m.
