CALDWELL, Idaho –
Ashley Pagan had 10 kills and both
Jackie van Vliet and
Katy Robinson each recorded seven blocks, as the College of Idaho defeated Multnomah University in three sets tonight inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Lady Yotes (9-6, 4-3 CCC) combined for 11 total blocks in the 25-16, 25-18, 25-17 victory – never trailing in the contest.
Cheyan Coburn had four of C of I's seven aces and
Kilee Lopez had 15 digs in the victory for the Yotes.
Robinson had a kill and a block in a five-point run in Set 1, breaking a 6-all tie to help C of I claim the first period. The Lions (5-9, 1-6) were within 21-18 in Set 2, with Pagan,
Randi Sturtz and
Brenna Meehan all recording kills in a 4-0 run to close the frame. A 10-3 run put Set 3 away for the Yotes, as Pagan had two big spikes in the surge.
Sturtz had nine kills, with Robinson recording six kills on just 15 swings. Pagan had seven digs on the night, with setters
Jayde Folsom (20 assists) and
Sydney Call (11 assists) combining for 31 assists.
Miranda Halverson led MU with 11 kills; setter Marissa Rhodes had 19 assists; and both Kayla Keane and Kiana Miller had 12 digs for the Lions.
C of I returns to action tomorrow night, hosting Warner Pacific at 7 p.m.
