WALLA WALLA, Washington – A relentless Lady Yotes' offense pounded Whitman College 3-0 in the road victory to improve to 3-1 on Sunday.
College of Idaho was held in check in the first half, tied 0-0 at half before team leading goal scorer
Jamiece Yizar knocked home her third goal of the season in the 47th minute. Yizar came close to her second goal in the 58th minute with her shot striking off the post.
Maddie Brown added to the Yotes' lead in the 75th minute with her second goal of the season.
Reilly Coyle shut the door with her goal in the 81th minute off of an assist from
Katelyn Benavidez. Coyle's goal was the first of the 2016 season.
The Yotes played aggressive for 90 minutes, recording 19 shots, with 10 of them reaching goal. 13 of the shots came in the second half. C of I also led the match in corners with six compared to four from Whitman.
Brittany Houghton earned her first clean sheet of the season, tallying three saves in the victory.
The Yotes will begin Cascade Conference play against Rocky Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 17th in Billings, Montana. The Battlin' Bears are 3-3 on the season after coming off a victory at UGF today.
