ROCKLIN, Calif. – A huge second half scoring explosion lifted the College of Idaho to their first win of the 2016 season, a come from behind 3-1 victory over William Jessup at Jessup Field.

The Lady Yotes (1-1) scored three goals in an 11 minute span after the break, erasing a 1-0 WJU lead, helping the squad split their road exodus to California.

The first half belonged to the Warriors (0-1), as WJU held an 8-1 shot advantage – breaking through in the 33rd minute, as Yvette Perez converted a penalty kick after a foul in the box.

Things changed quickly in the second half, as Jamiece Yizar made a great 1-on-1 move in the 55th minute, slotting home the tying goals, while less than four minutes later, Sabrina Mallett volleyed home a Morgan Childs corner kick for the Coyotes first lead.

The margin would grow in the 66th minute, as Summer Jackson uncorked a laser of a shot from just outside the box, finding the netting just inside the upper right corner of the goal.  C of I nearly made it 4-1 late, but a Hannah Coverley shot banged off the post.

Brittany Houghton earned the win, making five saves, as WJU unleashed 16 shots on the day.

The Lady Yotes return to the Valley for an exhibition game at Northwest Nazarene on Friday night.
