ASHLAND, Ore. – An upset was not in the cards for the College of Idaho, as No. 6 ranked Southern Oregon jumped out to a 24-3 lead, as the Raiders clinched at least a share of the Cascade Conference title with a 92-48 win in Mountain Avenue Gym.
Autumn Durand led SOU (24-1, 17-1 CCC) with 11 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in the win, their 27th-straight regular-season home victory.
The Lady Yotes (8-17, 7-12) used a 9-2 run in the second quarter – keyed by seven straight points from
Jaycin Tini, to cut the margin to 39-25 with five minutes left in the frame, but could not get closer.
Five players scored in double figures for the Raiders – with Ashley Claussen scoring 18 points; Courtney Setzer adding 14; Carly Meister had 13; with Majerle Reeves adding 11.
Petra Lumpert,
Kiara Skinner and
Ryleigh Swagerty all had eight points in the loss for the Yotes, who made just 26-percent of their field goal tries.
The Lady Yotes close out the regular-season next Saturday with a road date at Walla Walla.
